Air India has unveiled a new feature allowing passengers to lock in their flight rates for 48 hours by paying a non refundable nominal fee. This initiative aims to provide flexibility and convenience to travelers who need more time to finalise their travel plans without worrying about fluctuating airfare.
This service, available for flights at least 10 days from the booking date, requires users to select the Fare Lock option during booking and later confirm their reservations via the website or mobile app through the "Manage Booking" feature. Fees vary by route and are set at Rs 500 for domestic flights, Rs 850 for short-haul international flights, and Rs 1,500 for long-haul international flights.
In addition to the Fare Lock feature, Air India has partnered with Delhi Metro and Delhi International Airport Ltd to introduce a convenient check-in service for international travelers at two metro stations in Delhi. This initiative allows passengers to check in their baggage at the metro station, enabling them to explore the city without the burden of luggage. The baggage is then securely transported to the aircraft using advanced automated infrastructure. Available from 7 am to 9 pm at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium metro stations, this service aims to enhance the travel experience by providing greater convenience and flexibility for both domestic and international travelers.
Air India’s new Fare Lock feature is a significant enhancement to its service portfolio, offering travelers the peace of mind and flexibility needed to make travel planning smoother and more manageable. By allowing this convenience, Air India is positioning itself as a customer-centric airline that understands and addresses the dynamic needs of modern travelers.
